Our speaker Sophie Bradley, was born in England but moved to Qatar for 14 years, working for an international news channel. This gave her a wonderful cultural experience where she met people from around the world. After having two children with her husband, she decided to give them a head start in life by teaching them to read herself…
“My daughter managed to learn pretty easily which was fantastic. She was reading at 2 years old and could read up to 20 kids books a day!
My dear son however was the complete opposite! He had no interest in books, no interest in learning to read which frustrated and saddened me. It was whilst watching him play with his toy cars one day, did I have that ‘eureka’ moment and realise that if I incorporated his cars into some sort of learning game, he would be at least engaged enough to learn how to read. It worked and Spike’s Sight Words was born!
I now work on the business full time, building up the brand and at the same time helping thousands of children with their reading!”
