Hidden Gut Infections That Worsen Autism Symptoms

Over 40 research studies demonstrate that bacterial and yeast infections in the gut are common in people with autism. The bacteria and yeast produce toxins that can affect gut, body, and brain health. In some cases they obviously cause gut symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, but in about half of children with autism the only symptom is worse autism symptoms, because those toxins primarily affect brain function. This talk will explain our new Gut Health test, which with a simple urine collection will reveal if a bacteria and/or yeast infection is present. We will discuss possible treatments for these gut infections, with a focus on our clinical trials of microbiota transplant therapy to restore gut health.
